Refreshing Watermelon Tofu Smoothies

Tofu is one of the best sources of protein for vegans and when blended with a fruit yields a perfect smoothie that is loaded with vitamins, minerals and protein too. If desired it can be made more nutritious by further adding a few almonds or cashews. This Tofu-Watermelon Smoothie is a quick and easy to whip up drink that tastes absolutely delicious and is a perfect way to kick start your day.

Watermelon Tofu Smoothies


  • 1 cup of cubed watermelon, chilled
  • 2 Tbsps. silken tofu (Add another tbsp if not using almonds or cashews)
  • 6 soaked and blanched almonds (or cashews), optional
  • Pinch of pepper powder, optional
  • 1 tsp. sugar, optional


  • Wash tofu and drain off the water thoroughly.
  • Add watermelon, tofu, almonds (or cashews), and sugar in a blender and blend until smooth.
  • Add a dash of pepper and serve!
