Easy Homemade Cake Pops

  • Cake, your choice
  • Frosting, your choice
  • Chocolate chips (or candy melts)
  • Lollipop sticks
  • Sprinkles (or other decorations)

  • In a large bowl, crumble your cake.
  • One teaspoon at a time, add in your frosting and mix with your hands until your cake can hold a ball shape, but is still a little bit crumbly.
  • Shape the cake into balls of about 1 - 1 1/2 inches in diameter.
  • Press 1 lollipop stick into each ball and put them on a parchment-lined cookie sheet. Pop your cake balls into the freezer for about 30 minutes to help ensure that they keep their shape and stay affixed to the lollipop sticks.
  • Meanwhile, melt your chocolate chips or candy melts in the microwave or with the double boiler method. Pour your melted chocolate into a deep, narrow cup or bowl (to facilitate the dipping process).
  • Take your cake pops out of the freezer and dip each one into the melted chocolate, letting the excess drip off. Apply your sprinkles or other decorations now so that they adhere properly to the cooling chocolate.
  • Let your finished cake pops set on the parchment paper for approximately 2 hours before consuming.
  • Serve and enjoy!
